Hello, Again!
Hi Bloggers!
As you can see, the individual pages are now officially up! (Thanks, Mark!) Our names are to the left of the posted blogs on the home page.
I would just like to briefly tell you about some upcoming events.
- First of all, tomorrow we will have our CPSE Resume Workshop. The CPSE administrative and student staff will explain the body and significance of the standard resume. (NH 107 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
- Those resumes should come in handy at the Volunteer/Part-Time Job Fair coming up on the 25th. You can make copies of your resume and hand them to employers that you like. Good luck! (Brewer Center 12:00 p.m.)
God bless!

New “Individual” Pages!
Hello fellow students and bloggers!
Each CPSE writer now has their own individual page so you have the opportunity to chat with them one-on-one. They will be leaving up weekly blogs to keep you posted on events and other interesting topics. Links to their personal blogs can be found on the right side of the screen, just click their picture to enter their blog. Stay tuned, stay informed, and stay in touch!
Take care!

Get Involved!
Hi, CSU Bloggers! I’m Jessie, a sophomore in Music Education. I’ve been working at CPSE for 2 years now, and I love the services here. I hope you will, too!
Just to get a bit familiar with me, I’m planning on getting a Bachelor’s in Music and then pursue a Master’s or Doctorate in animation. I love writing and reading in whatever spare time I’m not practicing music. I also like playing basketball and ultimate frisbee with my friends. I’m on the Marching Band, and I’m in the Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble. My main instrument is Piano.
As a fellow college student, I know it’s expensive to live at this small point in time — especially on campus! Getting a job is of utmost importance, so I’m here to help you with any concerns about getting a contract or job, and creating your own rapport to help you get the job you want, on- or off- campus. I can also let you know about upcoming events hosted by the CPSE staff.
I hope you have a great time in college and I wish you well wherever you plan to work. God bless!

Do you have FWS?
Federal Work-Study is “awarded” by Financial Aid, like any scholarship that you recieve from financial aid. If you have FWS, it will be listed on your Award Letter mailed by Enrollment Services, or you can go to “My Financial Aid” and log in with your CSU Id and PIN. If you see either “FWS” or “CWSP” you have FWS. Career Planning and Student Employment will automatically mail you information and forms for you to complete and return to us this summer.
If you do not have a Federal Work-Study award, you may still work on campus in the Work-study Program, but it will probably be more difficult to find work. You will have to work in departments that will have to pay you from their budgets, or Institutional Work-Study (IWS). You will have to be more proactive in making contacts with offices that can hire IWS students. If you contact Career Planning and Student Employment, we will send you the same information that is sent to the Federal Work-study Award recipients.
The only difference between FWS and IWS is where the money ultimately comes from and the availability of positions. Either types of work-study can be applied to tuition or not - you’ll have to let the payroll office know where you want your money to go with a “Tuition Deduction and Direct Deposit Form.”
After you have completed the online Work-Study Orientation and submitted the appropriate forms from the Career Planning and Student Employment Web site, you will be given a contract to work in one of our many departments.
Please visit the Work-study Student page for more details or contact Nicole Copland at 843-863-8019.
